Look. I've been in the UK since 2007. I've adapted. I say 'lift'.

*But* I have never gotten my head around using a kitchen scale. I'm too lazy. Plus, my kitchen isn't big enough for a lot of pre-measuring so I measure as I cook (which is how I write my recipes).

You can certainly calculate weight based on the measurements given (I've certainly reverse-calculated that like a madman over the years) but I've not met anyone in the UK who has gone back to weighing after using the standard US measuring set.

If I've offended, do forgive me. Otherwise, use your measuring cups and let's get cooking.

*Tip: Buy metal ones with the measurements engraved. That way they won't get worn off or washed off. Something like this.

Welcome!

I'm just a regular, gay dad who loves to cook. But I have a horrible memory and so many times I'm halfway through a recipe when they reference some step I've forgotten.

It doesn't help that I don't really have space to pre-measure.

So, my recipes are written in a way I can follow. That's what you'll find here. If you see any way to make it even easier, please tell me.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the recipes and tips you find.

Don't forget to cook!
